NIJ, in collaboration with OVC, seeks applications for funding research and evaluation projects to examine Victim/Offender Overlap, Violent Victimization Experiences of Understudied Populations, Evaluation of Victim-Centered Alternative Justice Models, and Evaluation of Victim Service Delivery Models. NIJ will accept proposals of research that have the capacity to isolate potential causal mechanisms underlying the relationship between victimization and offending. NIJ is particularly interested in models research models that include event-based or frequent measurement of victimization and offending experience over time.
In general, NIJ is authorized to make grants to, or enter into contracts or cooperative agreements with, states (including territories), units of local government, federally recognized Indian tribal governments that perform law enforcement functions (as determined by the Secretary of the Interior), nonprofit and for-profit organizations (including tribal nonprofit and forprofit organizations), institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education), and certain qualified individuals.
