One of the exceptional features of NLADA is its inclusion of clients, both of civil legal aid and public defense, in the work of our organization.
As the people who receive services, clients offer a crucial perspective in the equal justice community, strengthening the ability of individuals and organizations to offer legal representation that advances justice and creates opportunity for low-income people. NLADA demonstrates its commitment to clients in a number of ways, including by having three clients on our Board of Directors.
NLADA pursues this work primarily through our Client Section, which provides a forum for clients of civil legal aid and public defense programs to voice their interests and concerns: as members of NLADA, as program board members, as customers of legal services, and as advocates for themselves and their communities.
