One of the key areas of work for the Civil Legal Services division is the federal Legal Services Corporation (LSC). Because LSC is the single largest funder of civil legal aid in the U.S., its regulations and policies can have a profound effect on the delivery of legal services. Civil Legal Services continually analyzes and comments on the LSC's work, advocating with LSC and its board for regulations, policies, procedures, and oversight that maximize the ability of legal services programs to provide high-quality representation.
