NLADA to Honor Deborah Goldstock Ringel, Accenture Federal Services & Tony West, Uber with 2022 Exemplar Award
Washington – The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) is pleased to announce the 2022 NLADA Exemplar Award Honorees: Deborah Goldstock Ringel, general counsel, secretary, and chief ethics & compliance officer at Accenture Federal Services and Tony West, senior vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary at Uber.
“Deborah and Tony exemplify an unwavering commitment to racial equity and access to justice in America,” said NLADA President & CEO April Frazier Camara. “It is an honor to recognize them both with NLADA’s prestigious Exemplar award.”
Ringel and West are being honored for their extraordinary leadership in promoting and supporting equal justice.
Ringel directs all legal services for Accenture Federal Services, leads an ethics and compliance program for over 13,000 employees, and serves as the principal legal advisor to the company board. Additionally, Ringel is an inaugural member of the company’s Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Council, where she contributes to the expansion and implementation of strategic I&D priorities across the company.
West leads a global team of more than 600 in Uber’s Legal, Compliance and Ethics, and Security functions. West has more than 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors.
West was twice confirmed by the Senate to serve as a senior official in the Obama administration. He served as the Associate Attorney General of the United States, the US Department of Justice’s third-ranking official, where he supervised many of the department’s divisions, including the Civil Rights, Antitrust, Tax, Environment and Natural Resources, and Civil Divisions, as well as the Office of Justice Programs, the Office on Violence Against Women, and the Community Oriented Policing Services Office.
The 2022 Exemplar Awards will be presented at the organization’s annual Exemplar Dinner on Thursday, June 9, in Washington, D.C.
