Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO), a non-profit law firm that provides high-quality legal assistance to eligible low-income individuals and groups in western Ohio, seeks a resourceful, culturally competent, hardworking attorney for its Special Projects Practice Group. This position may be located in LAWO’s Dayton or Lima office.
The attorney will focus on providing legal representation to Veterans and defending homeowners against foreclosures. The position will also involve advocacy and outreach efforts with community-based partners. Other case areas also may be assigned.

Excellent legal and communication skills; experience with computer software and Microsoft Office; ability to relate well with people living in poverty; and commitment to legal services required. Knowledge of and commitment to issues surrounding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Racial Justice strongly preferred. Previous experience in areas of housing or poverty law is highly preferred. Membership in Ohio Bar or ability to be admitted by motion or temporary certification is required.
