Job Announcement: Data & Evaluation Manager – Development, Communications and Data Team

The Data & Evaluation Manager works closely with the Executive, Development, and Program Teams to monitor and evaluate EBCLC’s legal services, policy advocacy, and clinical legal education. The position requires a detail-minded individual with a passion for using data to understand and improve our core services and help us better communicate who we are and what we do.

Primary Responsibilities

· Work with the Executive, Development, and Program Teams to maintain and develop data and evaluation systems that meet the organization’s programmatic needs.

· Establish guidelines for data collection and evaluation. Support EBCLC’s staff to implement these guidelines by providing comprehensive written instructions, user manuals, and regular training.

· Serve as the primary administrator of the organization’s case management system, LegalServer. Assume responsibility for managing relationships with the vendor, routine system maintenance, security updates, implementing new features, and user support.

· Provide clear and useful data reports/dashboards on EBCLC’s services for staff, board, and other stakeholders. Complete data reports required for contract/grant reporting and support other staff on data reporting tasks.

· Design and implement small-scale evaluation projects to support internal evaluation objectives and to satisfy the program evaluation requirements for specific contracts and grants.

· Maintain and develop an automated client survey system that gathers client feedback on EBCLC’s services via SMS messages and email surveys.

· Implement Staff and Board demographics surveys and analyze survey responses. Develop additional surveys as needed.

· Maintain and create documentation for all projects and systems.

· Execute other tasks as needed to achieve the goal of leveraging data and evaluation across the organization or as assigned by the Supervisor.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this exempt position ranges from $89,000 to $100,000 as dictated by EBCLC’s salary scale.

Workplace Expectations:

Due to COVID-19, EBCLC has shifted its operations to a hybrid work environment. Staff may work from home or in the office, subject to safety protocols. The Data and Evaluations Manager is expected to attend in-person meetings as needed to build internal and external relationships to succeed in their role, including donor meetings and community-wide events hosted by EBCLC. EBCLC will provide the necessary equipment to fulfill the job responsibilities while working from home. The Data and Evaluations Manager may work from our office on Center Street in Downtown Berkeley if they so choose.

Requirements: 

· Bachelor’s or associate degree and at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Interest in the civil legal services sector and commitment to social and racial justice.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders within an organization.

· Experience working with databases/case management systems (e.g., LegalServer, Salesforce).

· Experience manipulating and analyzing data in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft PowerBi, Tableau).

· Experience in designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys and using survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).

· Understanding of program evaluation methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research techniques.

· Ability to interpret and share data findings with both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, measure performance against goals, and work accurately with attention to detail.

· Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
