Position Description: 

Northern Nevada Legal Aid (NNLA), formerly known as Washoe Legal Services, is looking for a full-time HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. An HR Manager is the go-to person for all employee-related issues, including job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture is a vital role of the HR Manager. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define job descriptions for positions, distribute job postings, and facilitate the hiring process.
- Address health, safety, and worker management issues, including compliance with federal workplace laws.
- Develop and conduct necessary training and professional development programs.
- Provide guidance on employee relations and matters of corrective action.
- Facilitate job performance reviews.
- Implement incentive programs to increase employee productivity and performance.
- Design programs and procedures regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Keep track of records employee data such as wages, vacations, medical leave, attendance, and employee data.
- Updating Employee Handbook.
- Review and update policies as needed.
- Work with HR assistant to maintain and administer benefits programs administer payroll.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resources management.
- New hire employee onboarding; Employee offboarding.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

- Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Must be comfortable communicating with employees to successfully handle issues that arise between an organization’s workforce and management.

Salary/Benefits:
Position is full-time, with an hourly rate of $25-30/hour, to be determined based upon experience and qualifications. NNLA promotes a positive work-life balance by offering 11 paid holidays per year (not including half days for Thanksgiving and New Year's) and a generous Personal Time Off (PTO) program that starts accruing immediately. NNLA offers a competitive benefits package which pays 100% of the employee Medical, Dental, Vision and Life plans along with paying 75% of dependents benefit premium. In addition, NNLA has a 401(k)-matching program.
