NJP secures justice for people in or near poverty through high-quality legal advocacy that promotes the long-term well-being of low-income individuals, families, and communities through legal representation, community partnerships, education, and other advocacy.
NJP seeks applications from qualified attorneys to work out of our Seattle office as part of our Medica-lLegal Partnership (MLP) to address the legal needs of low-income patients and families with health-harming legal needs at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Harborview Medical Center.
This is a full-time exempt position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration with non-lawyers or medical providers, communitybased outreach and advocacy, and working within low-income communities is required.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse clients, communities, and colleagues.
• Member of the Washington Bar, the ability to acquire membership through admission by motion, or willing and able to take next bar exam.
• Good organizational/time management skills—must be able to successfully manage multiple duties, tasks, and deadlines.
• Desire to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, or other languages is a plus.
