Position Description: 

Founded in 1924, our non-profit law firm represents low-income people in a variety of civil legal matters including family, housing, consumer, public benefits, education and health law in a five-county service area (Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett Counties). Our clients and their legal issues are diverse and numerous. Legal Aid employs over 150 staff and operates five offices and numerous units, programs and projects throughout its service area.

The Director of Information Technology will be a member of the senior leadership team and report to the Executive Director. This is a new position for Legal Aid which will oversee all aspects of our information technology needs, including managing, implementing, recommending enhancements and innovative technology to support our goals.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and implement strategy for Legal Aid’s information technology needs
Work with the IT manager to develop and implement department goals
Work with the Executive Director, Director of Finance, and senior IT staff to develop and monitor the IT department budget
Ensure that IT department strategies and processes provide appropriate support to Legal Aid’s goals
Oversee contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers
Create and implement IT policies, protocols, and standards
Lead Legal Aid’s IT team; recruit, supervise, and develop IT staff, contractors, and vendors
Maintain accurate records of IT activities, including contracts
Serve as a key member of strategic planning staff leadership
Perform other duties as assigned

Prior experience working in a large non-profit organization a plus
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or another relevant field preferred; graduate degree in IT management, project management or computer information systems a plus
