Position Description: 

Kakalec & Schlanger, LLP, a plaintiffs’-side consumer class action and employment litigation boutique, is hiring an attorney to work out of its downtown Manhattan office. 
We are a firm whose principals come from legal services and government backgrounds, and who are dedicated to high-level advocacy on behalf of those who have been treated unfairly.

Requirements: 

Candidates must be admitted in New York (or qualify for reciprocity) and have:

  •  at least 4 years of federal litigation experience;
  •  excellent persuasive legal writing ability;
  •  experience taking and defending depositions;
  •  superior academic credentials;
  •  experience with one or more of the following types of litigation:
    -- wage and hour (FLSA state labor law, etc.);
    -- employment discrimination;
    -- consumer protection (FDCPA; TILA; Mag-Moss; FCRA, Predatory Lending; UDAP, civil RICO, etc.);
    -- federal class actions;

Former federal clerks strongly encouraged to apply.
