Position Description: 

The Kansas City Appellate & Post-Conviction offices for the Missouri State Public Defender are seeking law student interns for Summer 2022.

Interns will work closely with public defenders on appellate, post-conviction, and other special cases for our clients within Missouri's criminal legal system. Our attorneys work on cutting-edge, creative, and impactful issues seeking to get trial and appellate courts to remedy errors for our clients.

An internship with one of MSPD's Kansas City Appellate and Post-Conviction offices gives law students the unique opportunity to see a variety of types of criminal cases and issues. Our attorneys represent clients in both trial and appellate courts.

Requirements: 

We ask for a commitment of at least 20 hours per week during the Summer. Start and end dates are flexible, minimum of 8 consecutive weeks preferred.
