This is NOT a traditional talent acquisition position; rather the Talent Outreach Partner is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced, mission-driven individual to serve as an ambassador for the Committee for Public Counsel Services, the Massachusetts state public defender agency. The Talent Outreach Partner will enjoy making connections with a wide variety of people to drive our efforts to recruit diverse and highly talented pools of candidate to ensure a strong pipeline of future public defender staff.

AGENCY OVERVIEW

CPCS is the state agency in Massachusetts responsible for providing an attorney when the state or federal constitution or a state statute requires the appointment of an attorney for a person who cannot afford to retain one. The agency provides representation in criminal, delinquency, youthful offender, child welfare, guardianship, mental health, sexually dangerous person, and sex offender registry cases, as well as in appeals and post-conviction and post-judgment proceedings related to those matters.

The clients we represent are diverse across every context imaginable and bring many unique cultural dimensions to the matters we address. This reality creates a critical need for CPCS attorneys to be culturally competent and able to work well with people of different races, ethnicities, genders and/or sexual orientation identities, abilities, and limited English proficiency, among other protected characteristics.
POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Department is excited to add a new role to our collaborative team. The Talent Outreach Partner will be a key ambassador for CPCS in the search for legal and non-legal positions with our agency. This position will develop new and innovative recruitment strategies for in-person communication as well as expanding CPCS’ brand through our web presence, print publications, and on social media platforms. The Talent Outreach Partner will travel throughout the Commonwealth to meet with law school, graduate, and undergraduate student groups at campus events and job fairs.

The Talent Outreach Partner will also act as the Intern Coordinator and work with staff throughout the agency to further our pipeline of talented interns as well as act as backup to the HR Generalist responsible for the agency’s hiring and on-boarding processes.

Requirements: 

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and at least four (4) years of talent acquisition experience, or an
equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills;
• Access to an automobile in order to travel to office locations across the Commonwealth; and,
• Access to a personal computer with home internet access sufficient to work remotely;
