The California Women’s Law Center (CWLC) invites applications and nominations for Deputy Director. For over 35 years, CWLC has been an advocate for gender equality throughout California and beyond, working in collaboration with allies to protect, secure, and advance the comprehensive civil rights of women and girls, particularly the needs of low-income women and families. A legal support center, CWLC advances its mission through three primary activities: training and legal support services, impact litigation, and policy advocacy. Their work focuses on four broad areas: Title IX and gender discrimination in schools, women’s health and access to reproductive care, violence against women including sexual assault and domestic violence, and women’s economic security. Headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, CWLC is a leading advocate for women’s rights. CWLC supports policy leaders, legal professionals, school administrators, and other partners in crafting and enforcing laws that impact women’s ability to thrive.
The Deputy Director will be assuming a new role at CWLC dedicated to leading and inspiring their high impact legal program and helping to define California’s role as a beacon of women’s rights and advocacy throughout the U.S. and around the world. The Deputy Director will lead strategy and staff in addressing the matters noted above while investing in and understanding pressing ongoing challenges including housing insecurity, pay inequity, and disparities related to women’s health, reproductive rights, and opportunity.
