NLADA Mutual 2024 Highlights & 2025 Outlook

Dear NLADA Mutual Member/Owners,

As you may know, 2024 was the second policy year for NLADA Mutual – serving as a new business model for the NLADA Insurance Program – a mutual insurance company where members own the company and all net proceeds remain in the equal justice community.

Here, we share our 2024 Highlights:

• NLADA Mutual received a Rating of A (Excellent) from AM Best, the most respected global credit rating agency specializing in the insurance industry.
• Automated renewals have started for qualifying renewal policies under $2,500 and expiring on/after November 1, 2024.
• We have improved the online account management system and can now securely send your policy documents directly through email.
• NLADA Mutual leadership has joined advisory groups and presented at several national meetings on the growing hot topic of the role the insurance industry plays in supporting equal justice. (More below)
• We presented four well-received risk management sessions at the NLADA Annual Conference on topics including avoiding or mitigating claims related to lawyers professional Liability, employment practices, ethics and disciplinary proceedings and cyber security.

And finally, here’s what’s coming in 2025:

• First of all… this year we are pleased to celebrate 30 years of meeting the insurance needs of the NLADA equal justice community!
• We’re creating a new web-based risk management program that will provide on-demand content and help us respond to your requests for specific training and information.
• Responding to member concerns, we’re exploring ways to make relevant, affordable cybersecurity more available to members.
• You will now be able to request Certificates of Insurance through the on-line portal.
• You'll have access to a more streamlined online application process.
• NLADA Mutual will continue to be your fierce advocate for equitable access and coverage within the insurance industry as a whole. You’ll hear more about our Insurance + Equity + Justice Initiative this year!
