All conference events will be at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel. NLADA negotiated a special conference rate of $229 per night (single or double room), which includes complimentary Internet access. We are now past the cut-off date for making reservations in our room block, but the hotel is still taking reservations at prevailing rates (it may also be sold out on some nights).

The check-in time at the Renaissance is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 12:00 noon.

Hotel Features and Nearby Attractions

This downtown hotel is just moments from some of the most famous things to do and experience here in the nation's capital, including Chinatown, the White House, Ford’s Theater, the International Spy Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and the National Mall with its monuments, the National Gallery of Art, and a variety of Smithsonian Museums. And you won’t be lacking in dining and entertainment options in Washington’s thriving downtown area.

The Renaissance has a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a Starbucks coffee shop, a spa and fitness center, a business center, and a Hertz car rental station.

TRAVEL

Air Travel

Washington, D.C., is served by three airports. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the closest at 5 miles from the hotel. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is about 28 miles from the hotel. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is about 32 miles from the hotel.

Train and Bus Station

Amtrak, local commuter trains (MARC and VRE), and a variety of bus services operate out of Union Station, located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue NW, about a mile from the Renaissance. Union Station is also a stop on Washington’s Metro (subway) system.

Taxi Cabs & Uber

Taxi fares to and from the Renaissance from the local airports vary widely. Expect one-way fares (including tip) to be approximately $25 for DCA and to take about 20 minutes in normal traffic, $75 for IAD and to take about 40 minutes in normal traffic, and $86 for BWI and to take about 50 minutes in normal traffic. Regular Uber service will cost about $15-20 for DCA, $40-55 for IAD, and $45-60 for BWI.

Shuttle Services

A variety of shuttle services operate at the local the airports. One-way rates will be about $16 from DCA, $30 from IAD, and $38 from BWI. Check each airport’s website to see which companies serve each airport.

Metro

Metro, Washington’s subway system, has stations throughout the region, including two stations (Gallery Place & Metro Center) near the Renaissance hotel that provide access to every line in the Metro system. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is located on its own Metro stop on the Yellow and Blue lines.

Parking

The Renaissance offers both self-parking and valet parking. Self-parking is $35 per day and includes in-out privileges; valet is $53.10 per day.
